What is your favourite?

Wondering what everyone's favourites are..........

1. Magazine (can be scrapping or otherwise) and please share why.

2. font and where to find it.

My favourite magazine would have to be Scrapbook Trends. This is an American publication that Meredith and I stumbled upon when in Melbourne on our retreat adventure. This magazine is my favourite because the layouts featured in them are so beautiful, balanced and well designed. To me they are the absolute benchmark of scrapbooking. Another thing that i love about the magazine is the photography of the layouts - STUNNING! It really puts the Aussie mags to shame with their amazing true to life colours and display of the layouts.

My favourite font would have to be Type Ra (of course!) I started using this font quite a bit many years ago and still love it. It just seems to be 'me' although that sort of type font is everywhere you look now days. I get all my fonts free from da-font. I like how type ra is a little bit grungy as well........totally me :)

I would be interested to read your comments on your favourites!

I love the scrapbooking trends magazine as well. Would love to know how I download from the font site as everytime it tells me it cannot or the file is compressed and I can not open it.

Hi Marika.

You need to extract your font file before installing it. (if you have winzip it is quite easy)

There are some instructions here which make extracting and installing fonts fairly straightforward.

http://www.fortunecity.com/roswell/rune/399/install.html

or

Download the font into a folder you can easily remember.
Use Winzip to extract the font from the file. (go to the saved file, open it and press 'extract')
Extract the font into c:\windows\fonts
Go to the Start Menu, choose Control Panel.
Double click the Fonts folder.
Go to file> install new font

find where you saved your unzipped font in the bottom 'file' window and click on it to make it appear in the top 'list of fonts' window.

Highlight it by clicking the font in the top window you wish to install and press install.

hope that is ok.

Favorite mag: Scrapbook Trends ... feeling a bit like I am having withdrawals because I haven't bought one for a month or so and I looked at Marika's at the retreat!! Same as Amanda ... saw it in Melbourne and was blown away at the LOs and the way they photograph them. I also like Creating Keepsakes ... get lots of ideas. Also Scrapbooks Etc, another American one, great layouts.

Favorite font ... mostly type ones, also found one recently called Problem Secretary!! Think I googled it on "Da Font".
Downloaded a few recently that I haven't tried yet!! I usually look at ones I like in mags and search "Da Font" or "1001Font" site to find them.

favourite mags????
oh lordy me where to start....I am a bit of a magazine addict Im afraid, but like the other girls, scrapbook trends is first on the list along with simple scrapbooks which I have only recently been into, and is unfortunately discontinuing.next would be creating keepsakes. My sister recently subscribed to a aussie digital photography mag for my birthday so hopefully that will become a favourite too!
Once upon a time I would buy gossip and lifestyle mags, but now its only scrap mags, although I do have to grab a marie claire every now and again as Ive always loved that mag!

as for the font, dont really have a fave as such.

ermmm fave mag. Well like Maryanne, I only read scrap mags. And it takes me all month as I read them all word for word from front to back. I guess I look forward to Scrapbook Creations the most atm as they seem to like me lately. Otherwise I turn to CK. Lots of www downloads and ideas to try.

fonts. I use DaFont. I lurve
'the king and queen font'
and my type font is
'VTPortableRemington'

to unzip mine I have two folders on my desktop.
downloaded fonts
unzipped fonts

I download the fonts from DaFont into 'Downloaded Fonts' I might download up to a dozen at one time.

I open up the 'downloaded fonts'folder and 'unzipped folders' so they are side by side on screen.
click on the zipped folder. left click and drag the file to the 'unzipped fonts' folder and its auto unzipped.
easy as that.

when I have them all unzipped in the 'unzipped folder' I Control A (copy all) so they are all highlighted blue.
(on left side menu) move file
select this path
C drive
windows
fonts
click ok

all done.

all programs access this fonts folder.

Hi girls! My favourite magazine is Super Food Ideas. It’s still a reasonable price and is packed full of ideas, tips and great recipes. They are recipes that are easy to follow, have ingredients which are easy to purchase or have in the cupboard, and the magazine is excellent for everyday of the week cooking. Fave scrapbooking mag is Creative Keepsakes as they offer more hints and tips than some others.

Favourite font would be tempus sans, clear but not so rigid and straight. Found on any computer!!

Howdy girls!! I am getting withdrawals having no access to a computer!! I am at Rach's MIL's and sneakily asked to have a peek :)

My favourite magazine, thanks to A and M is...Scrapbook Trends, i lurve this one....and dying to find a March issue after drooling over Marika's!, this is followed by creating Keepsakes.

I don't have a favourite font atm, i am liking the basic typewriter ones or ones that look like book print. I find my fonts at dafont....takes me too long to find them so don't go hunting often. Some magazines print the font type used as part of the contents to each LO. I find that useful!
