Sketch challenge

Found this sketch in amongst my bits n bobs and it took my fancy for my next layout....hopefully you can find some inspiration and i can't wait to what you come up with..

August - a different sort of challenge.

Most of our regular e2c attendees would know of Tatum Woodroffe.

(sorry chickie i flogged this image off facebook! You really shouldn't trust your 'friends' you know?!)

Doesn't she have amazing hair!??

Well Miss Tatum is undertaking a different sort of challenge on August 26th - she is shaving her hair OFF on daffodil day to raise money for the cancer council.

See her inspirational post here:

Tatum - hair today gone on daffodil day 2011.

I know she will be surprised to see a post about herself here  - she certainly did not ask me to write this - but i know that she would be ever so grateful for some e2c support.

Every small amount counts so please support Tatum in this very brave challenge. Even if it's $5 - it all helps.

This is a direct link to donate : Tatum's hair shave.

Let's show her some e2c love.

Lou - Same on Same Challenge

ooooooooh look what has landed in my inbox!

A beautiful challenge piece from Lou. She said that she had good intentions of scrapping a few more but i am guessing the recent good times at Camp Mojo got in the way ;-) She also commented that she will be trying to fit a bit of scrappy time in while sipping cosmos in NYC which is where she is off to next. What a lucky lady you are Lou. Hope you have a great time away and get a wonderful look around the US of A.

*sigh* oh white on white….. delicious! Love all the leaf / twiggy bits and oh oh oh at your title. L.O.V.E. that. So effective!

Sue's sketch - Meredith

Tiff - Sue's sketch

Hi Sue,

I've used your sketch to get me back in the swing of things again. I've hardly scrapped at all during the school holidays with my time spent with the kids.

Thanks and take care,

tiff

What a nice surprise in my inbox Tiff....glad that the sketch got you started with your scrapping again and look forward to some more pages here??!! Love to see them.

This one is gorgeous Tiff, love the colours and those cute 'eggs' as your circles, love your stitching and that border punch is very effective....just love it all... and it looks like lots of fun was had with the kidlets during the holidays!!

Great to see some pages popping up here....and on this dreary cold sunday maybe i might even get to attempt one of the other challenges myself.

Have a good day,

Kathryn - Sue's Sketch

Hi Amanda

FINALLY.......... I have done a challenge and finished it before the end of
the month! LOL.

Kathryn
Xx

Great work Kathryn (nice to see some different faces in here!!)

LOVE that awesome pink - how eye catching and girlie. Cute little rabbit - real one in the photo and the chippie embellishment on the side edge.

The flower, vine and floral paper finish it all off perfectly.

My kids absolutely adore Greenpatch too - it's nice to see kids being gentle with the little animals.

Thanks for participating and scrapping up a ripper of a page!

a little tip ...

I love Crate Paper brads ...

Brads

these are some of the new release ... "Random"

Anyway ... once you have used the brads up, which doesn't take long as they are beautiful, then you can use the little foam square that they come on ...

as a mini mat for behind your paper to punch your holes for brads etc!!

It is small and more portable (easier than a mouse mat and a little bit thicker too).

Happy brad attaching!!

July sketch - a circle or two

This little sketch idea has been sitting on my scrap desk for some time (and you wouldn't beleive how many scrap pieces of paper i have with little scribbles on them...LOL!!)....so with Meredith's call for circles this month, i thought this sketch idea might help you all out with a simple basic starting point.

You will see i haven't put a spot for the 'title' or actual embellies etc....so go for it.... and i am so very keen to see what you can come up with, what different looking layouts we can get here.

I too must get a scrapping and hope you are getting a free moment to get to your scrap space too...with the school holidays on!

Catchya soon,

Suex

Amanda's july challenge

today i noticed that outline fonts are BIG right now.

They seem to be everywhere. Yesterday i received some yummy swissgirl design stamps

and they are everywhere throughout the latest Donna Hay magazine:

don't they look awesome?!!

So my challenge is to use an outline font. It could be one of the free ones you can download from dafont
(one of my favs. is Steelfish outline)

or you could stamp if you have outline stamps!

or another easy way would be to trace around the outside edge of a chipboard or sticker alpha and then remove to leave the outline…..

Hope we can fire up some scrapping on here!

e2c scrapathon

Just letting you all know that we are hoping to hold another one this year but as yet nothing is confirmed.

We are trying to coordinate 5 scrap businesses, our chef, school holidays, sport, work, farmers, and family so the majority wont be impacted and unable to come.

Mix this with almost fully booked out accommodation and it's tricky (to say the least)

If you hear a date mentioned, remember that as yet nothing is confirmed and set in concrete. Keep an eye on  this blog, our facebook page and your email which is where you will see it first.

We appreciate your patience

Marika - same on same and quote!

Hi Amanda,

Just sending you my layout for the same on same and quote challenge. Sorry about the crappy photo . purple on purple flowers and the punched border 3 times layered. Loved this photo of Bellas egg collecting in her dress in the freezing weather last week. lifted from the cover of ST August 2010.

Thanks Marika

Oh love the sensational colours in the title Marika. Your same on same flowers are great - just a subtle accent!! And that big photo is awesome - so cute!!  Great to see some new scrapping on the ol' blog!

thanks for joining in.

Sue- same on same challenge

My example of same on same very minimally by using the graph to do the journalling on....Papers used in this layout were 100 days of summer by Simple Stories, black spotty Echo Park, alpha stickers October Afternoon Rocket Age range...and random rubons..

Sue - Scrap this quote..

I found my source of inspiration for this months Scrap this quote challenge....when these Ali Edwards stamps arrived in the post....i thought 'you dooofa'.....and it wasn't the reason i bought the stamp set in the first place. I thought this quote would go with any picture and just capture the wonderful moment of everyday.

This is my first scrap page for some time, and i struggled with putting it together...but it is a photo of dear little Mace helping packing up from camping...just a wonderful ordinary everyday moment!

When you were ...Meredith's layout challenge

Take a look at this fab journaling and layout ...

June 11 DU - Dear Me image

From: Pip Prosser

The Australian Women's Weekly  has a feature each month about a celebrity reflecting on their life and giving advice to their 16 year old self ... take a look at Ita Buttrose and her thoughts ;-)

Looking forward to your roughly 16 year old photos (give or take a year or two) and your journaling!!

PS ...

You may decide to hide your journaling and that's okay!

Scrap this Quote challenge

I thought i would challenge something different this month instead of a sketch..............

"Scrap this Quote"...

I saw these words somewhere....don't ask me where...not sure if it was in a magazine, on a blog or just where, but i liked them immediately....so sent them to E2C's very clever graphic design artist Amanda and this is what she came up with...oh magic.....hope this inspires you like it does me!!!

So go use these words- either as part of your title or part of your journalling or just a quote on a fabulous page.....i can't wait to see what you come up with!!

Suexx

June Challenges

Well i think this month your challenge cup may well runneth over!

Meredith, Sue and myself have had inspiration overload and there are some awesome challenges that will be posted up here on the ol' blog during the month of JUNE.

Amanda's Challenge.

this is in response to a trend that i have spotted popping up all over the place.

SAME ON SAME.

here are some examples i have stumbled upon lately. The layering of paper elements of the same colour as the background is evident in each one:

Keisha Campbell

or this one by Michelle Burry who uses journalling strips in the same kraft as the background…..

and finally this gorgeous layout in the latest Creating Keepsakes really made my eyes pop - by Davine Fiero (if you follow her blog link there she also has another example creating clouds and a scalloped border using the same technique)  Those big kraft on kraft scalloped circles is what i am on about here!! What an awesome and yet subtle accent!

So pull out your punches or scissors and get some same colour on colour happing. It doesn't need to be kraft or white card stock. Just same card or paper on top of each other.

And nope i am not meaning a simple monocromatic layout here….. pfffft any doofus can pull one of those together. I am thinking punches, fussy cutting, home made bits and bobs from paper layered on to the very same paper/card base.

Go forth, create and show us how you go!

Sandra - Tucked in

Hi Amanda!!
Well would you believe it??
I actually got around to doing an E2C challenge
I have been rather slack in that regard lately.
I loved the 'Tuck' challenge and when I saw it this layout came to mind....and it has been floating around there ever since! lol
This is a photo of my late father in law.
Love the angle of the photo...considering the era, the angle is pretty funky!

Cheers
Sandra

Wow wow wow Sandra. You know what i love the very most about this layout? It's that it is full and yet maintains a sense of space. LOVE all those yummy tucked ephemera, bits and bobs. You do vintage so well Sandra!! Also adore how you picked a white lined pp backing instead of kraft or another darker / aged colour - it really makes the whole layout striking and so very eye catching.

It's wonderful to see your work on the e2c blog again :) Thanks!
